Q. When you're not working, what do you love to do in your free time?
A. If my days off include my husband, my golden retriever Wilder, and a coffee in hand, it’s a perfect day. I love to travel to a new country once a year, hike, antique on the weekends, but I’m often found in the kitchen cooking healthy food while planning my next opportunity for ice cream.
Q. Tell us more about your story and your career.
A. My artistic journey started at a young age, it began with acting and eventually photography. I went to beauty school to work in the film industry and ended up falling in love with styling. I am fascinated by stories, psychology, the human experience. Hair is both the art for me, and the relationship. Most of my clients become friends. Hair is more than a moment or a job for the day, it’s getting to have a front row seat to watching women feel beautiful, more confident, or witness the most special moments of their lives.
Q. Where are your favorite locations or venues to work?
A. I’m often working in Santa Barbra and a favorite venue would have to be San Ynez Ranch, it’s a dream!
Q. What is a current beauty trend you fully stand behind?
A. I’m obsessed with the trend of doing a second look for a reception, going from a romantic styled look, and switching to something playful and edgy, like a “power pony.” Ponytails forever and ever, amen.
Q. Please tell us more about your art.
A. As much as I love to create, I really value the collaboration with clients and know being heard is such an important part of having hair styled. I try to honor and achieve the dream hair that’s discussed, and hopefully be a part of healing those bad hairstyling stories, one good hair day at a time!
Q. What fuels you in your career?
A. As a perfectionist, I’m always striving against myself and on the quest to grow every time I create, and to discover what could be even better next time. I’m so inspired by relationships, fashion, and design.
Q. What you enjoy most about working with brides and bridal parties?
A. I love that every single wedding is so unique. It’s full of so much energy and excitement and yet there’s always someone you laugh with, cry with, and someone you usually laugh until you cry with.
Q. What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
A. Seeing a bride feel more beautiful than they even expected, it gets me choked up each time, sappy but true!
