SERVICES
Preparing for hair
Make sure you have clean, fully dry hair.
Shampoo and condition your hair as normal the day or evening before. You can let your hair air dry or blow dry, whatever you'd prefer, but use minimal to no products.
If you have naturally curly hair and want to work with your own natural curl, feel free to leave damp so we can diffuse dry, OR come with your hair air dried and we will perfect your natural curl with hot tools.
Your artist can incorporate clip in hair extensions, if you provide them (make sure they are 100% human hair or they will not be able to handle hot tools). If you need clip in hair extension recommendations, we highly recommend luxyhair.com and The Hair Shop.
Preparing for makeup
Make sure you have freshly cleansed skin.
Freshly cleansed and exfoliated skin with no product is ideal. Your makeup artist will provide the skincare products that pair perfectly with your makeup. Please let your artist know of any allergies or sensitivities.
Keep your skincare routine as normal as possible leading up to your event/wedding/shoot. If you'd like to try adding new products/masks/facials into your routine, do this months beforehand in case you have a reaction.
We usually try to avoid sunscreens, as they sometimes can flashback or change the look on camera. If you feel you need a sunscreen, your artist can absolutely incorporate one, it's just a skincare step we typically avoid.
Have ready: inspiration photos, any hair accessories, and an idea of the look and style you're going for.
Please be ready for your service 15 minutes before the scheduled time. If a bridal party member is even 5-10 minutes late, it can delay the timeline.
We follow a strict sanitation protocol. The health and safety of our artists and our clients is extremely important to us and we are taking actionable steps towards a safer working environment.
Gratuity
Gratuity is not required, but is customary. You can prepare to tip your artist directly with cash or by venmo. (Their venmo is always included at the bottom of your timeline link.)
Before a bridal trial or consultation appointment
A hair and makeup consultation (otherwise known as “trial” or “preview”) includes full hair and makeup. At the beginning of your appointment, you'll have time to talk through your vision, the details of the wedding, your outfit, and any accessories you're thinking of incorporating.
Your appointment usually takes around 1.5-2.5 hours. This includes lashes, clipping in hair extensions if you have them, and it includes 1 or 2 hair looks.
It's helpful to narrow down hair looks to 1 or 2 options. It's ideal to just have 1-on-1 time with you and your artist at the appointment, but of course you can invite family/friends if you'd like. We suggest less than 2 other people because having too many opinions can be confusing at the appointment instead of giving you clarity. You and your artist will take tons of photos afterwards that you can look back on leading up to the wedding. If you want any updates or tweaks to the look, of course your artist can implement anything you'd like on the wedding day!
You are unique and one of a kind. We want to EMBRACE that, not hide that. Have inspiration photos or a Pinterest board ready, but know that although our team is fantastic at matching looks, your look is still going to have it's uniqueness and individualism. It will not be an exact replica of a photo and going into the consultation with that knowledge and with realistic expectations will help you and your artist create a look that is totally you.
