Coastal Destination Wedding Weekend at Shutters on the Beach
Shutters on the Beach feels like a postcard come to life. A Cape Cod style beach house resort perched right on the Pacific in Santa Monica. With its chic coastal design, sweeping ocean views, and that warm, easy hospitality it's known for, the hotel sets the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding weekend. Every corner of the property carries that laid back coastal elegance that makes you want to slow down and soak it all in.
On wedding day, Rosie stepped into her moment wearing a modern, chic bun with flawless airbrush makeup, effortlessly polished and completely her. We also took care of the groom with our grooming service, because every detail matters and he deserves to feel just as confident walking down that aisle.
Glow and Glamour at The Hollywood Roosevelt
Our couple said "I do" against the storied backdrop of The Hollywood Roosevelt, and we were so honored to be part of the magic. Our team had the privilege of creating the full beauty look for the day, starting with Mae's bridal trial and carrying all the way through the wedding morning itself.
Heart, Intention, and ASL: Grooms’ Unforgettable Wedding at Redbird. Published in BRIDES Magazine.
Here’s a detail that made this day unforgettable: their ceremony was conducted in ASL.
With just 36 of their closest loved ones, the couple created an intimate celebration centered on meaning and connection. Mark and Christopher wrote their own vows, delivered in ASL, with friends interpreting for their hearing guests. The couple's choice to lead with ASL speaks to something they discovered together: sign language opened up a channel of communication and expression that felt "beautifully rich, nuanced, and poetic."
Wedding Weekends Are Having a Moment. Here's How to Plan Your Getting Ready Looks.
Wedding weekends often happen in destinations. Think Cabo, Carmel, Sedona, a family property in Montecito. And destinations mean variables. That Malibu cliffside rehearsal dinner has ocean breeze. The poolside brunch has direct sun. The evening reception is air-conditioned inside. Each of these affects how makeup holds, how hair behaves, and what looks will actually work across the full experience. We also think about the vibe shift. A welcome event is usually more casual. Softer looks, more approachable. The rehearsal might be slightly more polished. The ceremony is the moment. And some couples do a farewell brunch the next day where the vibe can be fun and relaxed again. Each one deserves its own energy, and we love working backward from that.

Timeless Romance at The Ebell of Los Angeles
Julia’s vision was romantic, natural, and timeless, and that is honestly our specialty around here. We created soft, brushed-together curls worn all-down for a look that was effortless but still had that wow factor. For makeup, we kept things classic and natural, enhancing Julia's gorgeous features with a flawless, radiant finish that felt like her but elevated. It was the definition of less is more and she looked absolutely stunning.
Our team provided the full bridal experience, starting with a trial run so Julia could see and feel everything ahead of time (which we always recommend!). The morning of, our team executed her hair and makeup plus stayed on-site for touch-ups to make sure she looked camera ready and flawless from ceremony through the last dance. Everything held beautifully and she was just glowing.

Natural Curls and Radiant Skin Forward Bridal Makeup at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano
Natural Curls and Radiant Skin Forward Makeup Look for Bride at Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano. When Alya first reached out to us, she told us exactly what she wanted: to look like herself. Glowy skin, a soft winged liner, lots of blush, Mission Eastern features embraced, and her beautiful natural curls preserved and celebrated. Before she found our company, she had actually been through a tough trial experience where her makeup came out caked on and her curls were ironed out and hair sprayed into something that didn't feel like her at all. She was looking for a team that would actually listen and honor what made her feel beautiful. Literally our specialty!!
Alexa & Ryan’s Destination Wedding in Oaxaca, Mexico, Published in The Anti Bride
I had the pleasure of traveling into Oaxaca, Mexico from Los Angeles to be there and style hair and makeup for the bride and her bridal party/family for the wedding weekend. We did a bold eye makeup look, paired with a skin-forward natural airbrush foundation and glow. Hair was styled slicked back and snatched in a mid ponytail hairstyle. For the wedding day look, I created a similar makeup look. Minimal, chic, glowing skin with focus on the eyes. We waved her hair in a brushed together curl that really gave such a “wow” factor. The real treat of the hairstyle was individually placed pearls - organically added throughout the hair. A deep rooted tradition of Oaxaca weddings is the Calenda, a vibrant street parade with brass bands, fireworks, dancing, giant puppets, and of course mezcal.
Fashion Designer Anna Sui Creates Custom Gown For Niece Isabelle Sui, Published in Over The Moon
The bride looked through Anna Sui’s archives and called out elements of her favorite dresses. After a few detailed sketches, they had created Isabelle’s wedding dress in French Chantilly lace. On the day-of, the bride got ready with Emily Lynn & Co. and accessorized with pearl Jimmy Choos to match her pearl engagement ring, her mother’s wedding necklace, and Edwardian diamond earrings. A Claire Pettibone veil and a flower crown.
“Fashion-Forward Beverly Hills Courthouse Elopement Across Los Angeles Landmarks” Published in California Wedding Day Magazine
A three-day Beverly Hills courthouse elopement that blended art, architecture and personal style. Through thick and thin, they worked together to make their wedding entirely their own, writing their own rules and expectations for how they wanted their nuptials to feel. Malika wore a long-sleeve lace Chanel gown with pearl belt accents and tulle veil for her formal courthouse look, later swapping for more casual looks like the tweed Chanel mini dress and Converse shoes she wore on Venice Beach, or the Clio Peppiat beaded mini dress, trailing veil and colorful bouquet that she wore beachside in Malibu. Wesley was timeless in a Ralph Lauren tuxedo for the ceremony, and more playful in a custom pair of Ralph Lauren tuxedo shorts and Vivo Barefoot sneakers, switching pocket squares and brooches to keep his look fresh.

“This Dreamy Desert Micro-Wedding Was Inspired by the Magic of a Mirage” Published in Green Wedding Shoes
“Planning a wedding involves a lot of shared creative output, so the most important thing is to work as a team. The shared flow can feel really great, and having each other’s support through the more tedious tasks is important. We put a lot of time and consideration into choosing the right theme for us, which helped us maintain our focus. Our planners, photographers, and baker weren’t just our vendors, they became part of our wedding team and became part of the collaborative and creative process.”
“Romantic Spanish Garden Wedding at Inn at Mission San Juan Capistrano with Aviation Touches” Published in California Wedding Day Magazine
Held at Inn at Mission San Juan Capistrano, their dream of a fun-filled, Spanish-inspired garden-party wedding came to life. Homages to the couple’s love story began with their invitations, designed to resemble passports and boarding passes in the dark sage that would become a signature color for the wedding. As guests entered, they found reserved seating marked with playful ‘Reserved First Class’ signage. Friends and family found their way to the reception marked by the fun sign that read “The Party is Now Boarding.” The seating board was personalized luggage tags displayed on a cleverly named departure board, which guided everyone to their gates and terminals. The newlyweds enjoyed a private moment at their sweetheart table, or rather “The Cockpit.”
“Cierra + Brett by Vanessa Jane Photography” Published in Together Journal
“Our vows were beyond special. We had gone back and forth about whether or not to share our vows privately. Being more reserved, Cierra felt it might be more meaningful to keep the exchange between the two of us. Eventually, though, we remembered how much we enjoyed hearing vows at all the other weddings we had attended. That helped us decide to share ours in front of our guests. And we are very happy that we did. It’s something we’ll never forget. Cierra’s grandmother was close enough that we could hear her words of encouragement. During our more tearful moments, we could even hear our loved ones crying along with us. We were both struck by the profound love and support we felt from our guests, and we think our vows welcomed the immediacy of those feelings.”
