Heart, Intention, and ASL: Grooms’ Unforgettable Wedding at Redbird. Published in BRIDES Magazine.
Grooms Mark and Christopher planned a wedding that was truly intentionality personified.
They planned their wedding celebration in “The Cardinal's Quarters” at the historic Redbird in Downtown Los Angeles. BRIDES magazine recently featured their stunning day, and we are in love with every detail of their story. BRIDES feature here.
Here’s a detail that made this day unforgettable: their ceremony was conducted in ASL.
With just 36 of their closest loved ones, the couple created an intimate celebration centered on meaning and connection. Mark and Christopher wrote their own vows, delivered in ASL, with friends interpreting for their hearing guests. The couple's choice to lead with ASL speaks to something they discovered together: sign language opened up a channel of communication and expression that felt "beautifully rich, nuanced, and poetic."
Mens Grooming is here to stay for weddings!!
Mark wore a custom three-piece dark green suit in cashmere-cotton with their wedding date embroidered inside, while Christopher chose midnight blue, both from Indochino. We kept the grooming service, along with full hair and makeup for friends, elevated but natural, fresh, confident, and camera-ready. Mark and Christopher exchanged handkerchiefs with embroidered sayings, and each wore meaningful gifts from the other.
Afterparty at the Bowling Alley.
After the emotion and intimacy of the ceremony and reception, the wedding party and all the guests changed into custom bowling shirts and headed to Montrose Bowl for a retro-inspired after-party. "It was nostalgic, low-pressure, and the perfect exhale," they said. That's how you end a wedding day.
“I cannot say enough good things about Emily Lynn & Co. They were absolute pros — calm, professional, and so incredibly talented. Emily listened to exactly what we wanted and somehow made it even better. The makeup was flawless — natural yet elevated, glowy but never overdone. It held up perfectly through the ceremony and happy tears! We felt like the best versions of ourselves, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how amazing we looked.”
