Q. When you're not working, what do you love to do in your free time?
A. I love doing yoga, hiking, taking my dog to the dog beach, anything outdoors! I’m also a certified Cicerone and new to LA so I love checking out breweries and doing craft beer tastings!
Q. Tell us more about your story and your career.
A. I started my journey with makeup after college when my older sister bought me an eyebrow pencil and told me my eyebrows needed some work, and I always joke about how that was the beginning of my obsession. I fell in love with the precision of the craft, and how one tiny little adjustment could change the entire look of a makeup. I began working professionally in January of 2017 in Columbus Ohio where I grew up and lived before coming here to Southern California. Since then, I’ve met and worked with some of the most amazing people and have learned so much not just about makeup, but about myself as well. I believe this is my true passion and what I’m meant to spend my life doing. I love multiple aesthetics, but specialize in natural glowy looks and enhancement rather than transformation.
Q. What brought you to Southern California?
A. I was born in San Francisco but moved to Ohio when I was an infant, so I always say my recent move to Los Angeles was my opportunity to come back to my roots! I also came here in search of portfolio diversity and because it’s sunny all year round and I was tired of snow lol.
Q. What is a current beauty trend you fully stand behind?
A. Bigger brows. Pencil thin brows can stay in the 90s!
Q. Please tell us more about your art.
A. I have always been insanely creative and loved all kinds of art but had a hard time figuring out what type of art I truly felt passionate about until I started doing makeup. I can’t wait to continue to learn and grow in Southern California!
Q. What fuels you in your career?
A. My personal relationships I create with people in the industry and clients!
Q. What you enjoy most about working with brides and bridal parties?
A. I love that I get to be a small piece of one of the most important days in someone’s life. And getting to know every person who sits in my chair, learning their story or just talking about something random… those conversations are the best. And also seeing the professional galleries from photographers, they always makes me cry.
Q. What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
A. The last hour before everyone has to be completely ready. Seeing everyone’s looks come together with hair and makeup, and everyone getting into their outfits… the excitement that fills the air is such a rush even for me!
