Heart, Intention, and ASL: Grooms’ Unforgettable Wedding at Redbird. Published in BRIDES Magazine.
Here’s a detail that made this day unforgettable: their ceremony was conducted in ASL.
With just 36 of their closest loved ones, the couple created an intimate celebration centered on meaning and connection. Mark and Christopher wrote their own vows, delivered in ASL, with friends interpreting for their hearing guests. The couple's choice to lead with ASL speaks to something they discovered together: sign language opened up a channel of communication and expression that felt "beautifully rich, nuanced, and poetic."

Alexa & Ryan’s Destination Wedding in Oaxaca, Mexico, Published in The Anti Bride
I had the pleasure of traveling into Oaxaca, Mexico from Los Angeles to be there and style hair and makeup for the bride and her bridal party/family for the wedding weekend. We did a bold eye makeup look, paired with a skin-forward natural airbrush foundation and glow. Hair was styled slicked back and snatched in a mid ponytail hairstyle. For the wedding day look, I created a similar makeup look. Minimal, chic, glowing skin with focus on the eyes. We waved her hair in a brushed together curl that really gave such a “wow” factor. The real treat of the hairstyle was individually placed pearls - organically added throughout the hair. A deep rooted tradition of Oaxaca weddings is the Calenda, a vibrant street parade with brass bands, fireworks, dancing, giant puppets, and of course mezcal.

“Fashion-Forward Beverly Hills Courthouse Elopement Across Los Angeles Landmarks” Published in California Wedding Day Magazine
A three-day Beverly Hills courthouse elopement that blended art, architecture and personal style. Through thick and thin, they worked together to make their wedding entirely their own, writing their own rules and expectations for how they wanted their nuptials to feel. Malika wore a long-sleeve lace Chanel gown with pearl belt accents and tulle veil for her formal courthouse look, later swapping for more casual looks like the tweed Chanel mini dress and Converse shoes she wore on Venice Beach, or the Clio Peppiat beaded mini dress, trailing veil and colorful bouquet that she wore beachside in Malibu. Wesley was timeless in a Ralph Lauren tuxedo for the ceremony, and more playful in a custom pair of Ralph Lauren tuxedo shorts and Vivo Barefoot sneakers, switching pocket squares and brooches to keep his look fresh.

“This Dreamy Desert Micro-Wedding Was Inspired by the Magic of a Mirage” Published in Green Wedding Shoes
“Planning a wedding involves a lot of shared creative output, so the most important thing is to work as a team. The shared flow can feel really great, and having each other’s support through the more tedious tasks is important. We put a lot of time and consideration into choosing the right theme for us, which helped us maintain our focus. Our planners, photographers, and baker weren’t just our vendors, they became part of our wedding team and became part of the collaborative and creative process.”
“Romantic Spanish Garden Wedding at Inn at Mission San Juan Capistrano with Aviation Touches” Published in California Wedding Day Magazine
Held at Inn at Mission San Juan Capistrano, their dream of a fun-filled, Spanish-inspired garden-party wedding came to life. Homages to the couple’s love story began with their invitations, designed to resemble passports and boarding passes in the dark sage that would become a signature color for the wedding. As guests entered, they found reserved seating marked with playful ‘Reserved First Class’ signage. Friends and family found their way to the reception marked by the fun sign that read “The Party is Now Boarding.” The seating board was personalized luggage tags displayed on a cleverly named departure board, which guided everyone to their gates and terminals. The newlyweds enjoyed a private moment at their sweetheart table, or rather “The Cockpit.”
“Cierra + Brett by Vanessa Jane Photography” Published in Together Journal
“Our vows were beyond special. We had gone back and forth about whether or not to share our vows privately. Being more reserved, Cierra felt it might be more meaningful to keep the exchange between the two of us. Eventually, though, we remembered how much we enjoyed hearing vows at all the other weddings we had attended. That helped us decide to share ours in front of our guests. And we are very happy that we did. It’s something we’ll never forget. Cierra’s grandmother was close enough that we could hear her words of encouragement. During our more tearful moments, we could even hear our loved ones crying along with us. We were both struck by the profound love and support we felt from our guests, and we think our vows welcomed the immediacy of those feelings.”
